Job description

Job Summary

The Strategic Planning & Operations (SPO) Director for Enterprise Programs & Platforms is a key member of the EP&P leadership team, reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Programs & Platforms. This role strengthens the effectiveness of the EP&P organization by shaping and evolving its operating model and enabling aligned, disciplined execution across the portfolio. Operating within Technology, the SPO Director acts as a central integratorโ€”connecting teams, aligning priorities, and ensuring that execution across programs and platforms is coordinated and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape and evolve the EP&P operating model to improve clarity, consistency, and scalability across programs and platforms.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and how work is executed across the organization.
  • Partner with portfolio management and delivery teams to ensure operating mechanisms and governance processes are effective and aligned.
  • Provide visibility into execution performance, risks, and dependencies to support leadership decisionโ€‘making.
  • Facilitate alignment across EP&P programs, platforms, and partner organizations within Technology and the business.
  • Connect work across teams to ensure dependencies are understood and managed.
  • Surface and help resolve crossโ€‘functional issues related to priorities, resourcing, and execution.
  • Reinforce accountability by tracking key actions, commitments, and followโ€‘through across leadership.
  • Prepare clear, concise materials (briefings, summaries, preโ€‘reads) to support leadership decisionโ€‘making.
  • Translate complex program and platform updates into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Support leadership forums to ensure discussions are focused, structured, and outcomeโ€‘oriented.
  • Maintain consistent communication and alignment across EP&P leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive clarity in roles, decision rights, and ways of working across EP&P.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve execution consistency.
  • Support the development of execution discipline and collaboration across teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of project management and/or strategic planning operations experience, OR
  • Masterโ€™s degree and 7 years of project management and/or strategic planning operations experience, OR
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree and 9 years of project management and/or strategic planning operations experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years in pharma/biotech/healthcare with large program experience, ideally within a Technology organization.
  • Experience in Program Management, Transformation, and/or Leading Strategy/Operations.
  • Executive presence; strong judgment, influence, and communication across levels.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives in matrixed environments, navigating ambiguity with diplomacy.
  • Skills developing executiveโ€‘level storytelling and presentations that drive crossโ€‘functional alignment.
  • OpEx/CapEx budget management and forecasting experience.
  • Lean and operational excellence mindset.
  • Strong project management skills and experience using tools such as MS Project, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Structured problemโ€‘solver with a resultsโ€‘oriented approach.

Salary Range: $172,293.30 โ€“ $233,102.70 USD (excluding Puerto Rico).
