Job description

Registered Nurse (RN):
JFCS is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our East Valley Healthcare Center. The RN will ensure that appropriate, timely, and quality clinical services are delivered to individuals and families.
Duties Include:
  • Coordinates behavioral health and primary care processes by supervising Medical Assistants (MA's) at the healthcare clinic.
  • Participates in hiring, training, and development activities for the site MA's, including initial and annual competencies (e.g. phlebotomy, AED machine, EKGs, PPE, lab activities).
  • Effectively triages Medline phone calls and walk-in clients receiving psychiatric or medical care at JFCS, staffs urgent or crisis calls with the prescribers or PCP, coordinates bridge prescriptions until next scheduled appointment, coordinates completion and renewal of medication prior authorizations.
  • Ensures MA's maintain a timely schedule for on-site appointments, including obtaining vitals for prescriber appointments and appropriate documentation and rooming of PCP patients.
  • Collaboratively communicates with site prescribers, PCP, clinical team, medical director, site director, clients, families, DCS, group homes, and other providers.
  • Maintains behavioral-health medication sample cabinet, documents inventory, and destroys expired samples. Maintains PCP stock of supplies, PPE, vaccines, medications, etc.
  • Administers injections to JFCS clients as needed (e.g. Depo, LAI), coordinates with pharmacy to ensure injectable medications are delivered on-time for injection appointments.
  • Provides direction and Point of Care Testing training for tests performed in the lab and performs regular quality checks to ensure compliance in the laboratory.
  • Provides supervision and training on injectables, vaccinations, blood draws, and specimen collection, in accordance with best practices.
  • Provides routine maintenance of patient exam rooms, medication stock, equipment, and instruments.
  • Proficient with the AZDHS Vaccines for Children program and ASIIS.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience working in a behavioral health and/or primary care clinic – knowledge of patient prep and follow-up (vitals, well visits, immunizations, screenings, referrals, prior authorizations, etc.).
  • Proficiency with the Vaccines for Children program and use of ASIIS.
  • Experience with infection control procedures.
  • Familiar with documentation and billing guidelines.
