The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Engineering Group Director (NH-0855-04) to work at Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center(AFSC) for the 402nd Software Engineering Group (SWEG/CL) location at Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, Georgia. The purpose of this position is to serve as Director, 402 Software Engineering Group. Directs, manages, and oversees operations of the 402nd Software Engineering Group, which serves as the single organic source of Mission Critical Computer Resources (MCCR) and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software for all assigned prime systems and equipment and for all echelons of maintenance requiring computer programming skills in higher order and assembly-level computer programming languages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- Work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid license may be required for the position.
- Subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems

- Proven ability to understand and lead a large working capital fund, organic software organization with a focus on fiscal solvency, managing budgets, assessing ROI on technology investments and navigating all business operations, including resource allocation, performance monitoring, and process optimization.
- Fosters a strong organizational culture in inspiring, mentoring and building high performance teams across the enterprise. Embodies the Art of the Possible leadership model tenants while driving strategic collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders and promoting the professional growth of individuals.
- Demonstrated capacity to establish a compelling organizational vision, long term goals, anticipate trends and align the organization's roadmap while effectively driving transformational strategic change both internally and externally. Understand and shape the role software-delivered capability at the enterprise level spanning the life cycle spanning requirements, research, acquisition, and sustainment.
- Established competence of software development processes, system architecture, modern tech stacks, development infrastructure and risk management framework requirements to make informed decisions and communicate effectively with multiple STEM project teams.
- Leads and integrates execution of assigned software development activities spanning capability generation that may span software directorate teams, the Air Force software ecosystem, industry, and academic partners.
- Provides strategic intent through ability to define long term technology, process and organization strategy as aligned to directorate goals.
