What is a group creative director?

A Group Creative Director is a senior leadership role in advertising, marketing, or creative agencies, responsible for overseeing the creative direction and output of multiple teams or brands. They guide creative strategy, mentor creative directors and their teams, and ensure that all work aligns with a client’s objectives and brand identity. Group Creative Directors collaborate closely with clients, account leads, and other departments to deliver innovative and effective campaigns. Their vision and leadership help shape the overall creative culture within an organization.

How does a group creative director typically balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on creative work?

As a Group Creative Director, you’ll find that much of your time is dedicated to leading and mentoring creative teams, setting the vision for multiple projects, and ensuring cohesive brand messaging across campaigns. While you may still participate in brainstorming sessions and review key creative deliverables, the majority of your role involves strategic oversight, stakeholder management, and facilitating collaboration among art directors, copywriters, and account teams. Striking the right balance means empowering your teams to execute ideas while providing guidance and feedback to maintain quality and consistency. This leadership focus can be both challenging and rewarding, especially for those transitioning from more hands-on creative roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a group creative director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Group Creative Director, you need extensive experience in creative strategy, visual design, brand development, and team leadership, often supported by a degree in design, advertising, or a related field. Mastery of creative software like Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of project management tools, and familiarity with digital marketing platforms are typically required. Exceptional communication, visionary thinking, and the ability to inspire and mentor diverse teams are vital soft skills. These strengths ensure cohesive creative output, effective client engagement, and the successful execution of innovative campaigns.

Job description

About the Opportunity

This isn't a traditional sales role; it's a chance to build and operate a hyperlocal magazine in your community, backed by the support of an established national company. You'll build something of your own: developing your market, your client relationships, and working to grow a recurring revenue stream.

If you're a relationship-driven seller ready to invest in building a business, this role blends sales, ownership, and community leadership into one unique opportunity.

Position Summary

We're seeking an Area Sales Director (known to N2 as Area Directors) to launch, grow, and lead a Real Producers publication in your local market. If accepted, you'd operate as a local publisher: driving revenue, building partnerships with business owners, and shaping a magazine that reflects the heart of your community.

Your first months will focus on establishing your territory and building your client base. From there, you grow an asset you own.

This hybrid position involves a blend of in-person community engagement and work performed from your home office.

Who You Are

  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed: you're energized by building something, not just maintaining it
  • A natural relationship-builder with consultative sales instincts
  • Motivated by helping local businesses grow and succeed
  • Confident enough to trust N2's proven system and make it your own

What You'll Do

  • Conduct consultative meetings with local business owners to establish long-term advertising partnerships
  • Build meaningful relationships within the community using a proven engagement model
  • Connect local businesses with their ideal customers through your publication
  • Engage with homeowners to capture authentic, community-driven content
  • Manage your territory, sales pipeline, and publication operations
  • Partner with N2's national team for design, production, training, and ongoing support
  • Lead your publication's growth as the face of Stroll in your market

What You'll Love

  • Ownership, Not Just Employment - Build and manage a local publication business in your market
  • Flexible Schedule - Design your workday around your life
  • Comprehensive Training - Proven, repeatable systems to guide your success
  • Award-Winning Culture - Supportive, nationally recognized team behind you
  • Community Impact - Become a connector and leader in your local area

Income Snapshot

Our average commission paid to the top Area Directors with one publication was more than $240,298* during the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Your financial results may differ. Important assumptions and qualifiers relating to this information can be found in Item 19 of our October 10, 2025 franchise disclosure document.

About The N2 Company

The N2 Company helps small- to mid-sized businesses connect with affluent homeowners through high-quality monthly publications, targeted digital advertising, and creative community events. Our portfolio includes 800+ custom publications across brands including Stroll, BeLocal, Greet, Real Producers, and more.

About Real Producers

Real Producers celebrates the top real estate agents in local markets through a magazine written by and for the real estate community. Agents value Real Producers for the recognition and connection it provides. Local businesses benefit by building relationships with high-performing professionals in their area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • US Resident
  • Ability to operate a home-based business with local community engagement
