Position Overview: ย As a Grounds Equipment Operator at Brockport School District, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our school grounds. You will be responsible for operating a variety of grounds maintenance equipment and performing tasks related to landscaping, turf maintenance, and general grounds upkeep.
Responsibilities:










1.ย  Operate Grounds Maintenance Equipment:
ย  ย  ย Safely operate and maintain a range of grounds maintenance equipment including lawn mowers, tractors, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other power tools.
2.ย  Turf Maintenance:
ย  ย  ย Perform routine lawn care tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and seeding to ensure the health and appearance of turf areas.
3.ย ย Landscaping:
ย  ย  ย Assist in the installation and maintenance of landscaping features such as flower beds, shrubs, trees, and hedges.
4.ย  Irrigation Systems:
ย  ย  ย Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns, gardens, and landscaping features.5.ย  Snow and Ice Removal:
ย  ย  ย Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months using snow blowers, plows, and other equipment as needed.
6.ย  Safety and Compliance:
ย  ย  ย Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and performing grounds maintenance tasks. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
7.ย  Equipment Maintenance:
ย  ย  ย Perform routine maintenance tasks on grounds maintenance equipment including cleaning, lubricating, sharpening blades, and making minor repairs. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor.
8.ย  Team Collaboration:
ย  ย  ย Work collaboratively with other grounds maintenance staff and departmental colleagues to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
9.ย  Documentation:

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL license with a clean driving record.
