Are you someone who takes pride in a job well done and enjoys working outdoors? Aramark Facilities Management is seeking a dependable Groundskeeper to help maintain the beautiful campus environment at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama.
In this hands-on role, you'll help ensure campus grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. If you enjoy physical work, working with landscaping equipment, and seeing the results of your efforts every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities
  • As a Groundskeeper, you'll play an important role in maintaining the appearance and safety of university grounds and outdoor spaces. Daily responsibilities include:
    •    Weed eating and trimming around buildings, sidewalks, and landscaping
    •    Edging walkways, curbs, and landscaped areas
    •    Blowing debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas
    •    Picking up trash, sticks, and other debris across campus grounds
    •    Mowing lawns and maintaining turf areas
    •    Assisting with planting, weeding, fertilizing, and seasonal landscaping projects
    •    Maintaining the cleanliness of sidewalks, parking lots, driveways, and outdoor gathering spaces
    •    Operating landscaping and grounds equipment, including mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other power tools
    •    Assisting with inclement weather response and seasonal grounds maintenance as needed
    •    Performing basic maintenance and care of groundskeeping equipment
    •    Following all safety standards and reporting equipment issues promptly

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    High School Diploma or GED
•    Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
•    Authorized to work in the United States
•    Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
•    Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment or learn quickly
•    Strong commitment to safety, attendance, and reliability
•    Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
•    Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, lawn care, or horticulture experience
•    Experience using commercial landscaping equipment
•    Experience maintaining large campuses, parks, schools, universities, or commercial properties
