Job Title: Landscape Crew Supervisor

EXEMPT: NO

LOCATION:

JOB TYPE: Full-time

DAYS: Monday - Friday

REPORTS TO: Account Manager

SUMMARY: The Senior Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading the crew in daily operational activities. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. Experience working in a cemetery setting is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating tractors and performing light masonry work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Supervise, coordinate, and direct the daily activities of the crew
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor work quality and productivity
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures and proper equipment use
  • Address performance issues and provide coaching as needed
  • Operate tractors and other light equipment for ground maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure quality workmanship
  • Ensure headstones, monuments, and grave markers are protected during maintenance
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, etc.)
  • Monitor inventory of tools, supplies, and landscaping materials
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and cemetery policies
  • Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE requirements
  • Address on-site issues and provide effective problem resolution
  • Promote teamwork and maintain a respectful, professional work environment
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Immediate reporting of unsafe working conditions and/or practices to the Account Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, cemetery operations, or memorial park environment
  • Experience managing a team of employees
  • Prior experience working in a cemetery setting preferred
  • Proficient in tractor operation and light equipment use
  • Experience with light masonry work
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license required

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Proficient in English; Spanish fluency or bilingual ability strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically demanding tasks include bending, lifting, kneeling, prolonged standing and/or sitting, and repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
