Ground Market is a community gathering place in the heart of Carlton, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley-bringing together a wood-fired pizza and ice cream shop alongside a market and farmstand rooted in the region's agricultural abundance. The space is warm, lively, and welcoming, inviting locals and visitors to connect over simple, good food.

Job Summary:
Bring wood-fired food to life and create a welcoming, high-energy experience for our guests. The Cook at Ground Market is responsible for preparing and executing pizzas and other menu items with consistency, quality, and care. This role ensures a clean, organized station and supports smooth, efficient service in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook wood-fired pizzas and accompanying menu items to established standards
  • Manage dough handling, stretching, topping, and oven execution with consistency and attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station before, during, and after service
  • Execute prep tasks and station setup to support daily service needs
  • Work efficiently to produce high-quality food in a timely manner during service
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Occasionally support front-of-house operations, including running food and engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of menu offerings and key ingredients, including Ground Market's proteins, produce, and sourcing practices, to support both execution and occasional guest interaction

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience working with or willingness to learn wood-fired ovens and live-fire cooking
  • Strong knife skills and basic food preparation techniques
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
