Summary of Job Duties:
The UAMS Department of Pathology is seeking a career driven HT-eligible to join our team! Someone who is motivated and can bring value to our pathology grossing department. As a leading member of the team, you will work closely with Pathology residents and Pathologists to aid in tissue processing in the lab. We process specimens ranging from biopsies to large complex organs.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with HT (ASCP) certification, OR 60 semester hours with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology AND chemistry, OR an associate degree with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry within or in addition to associate degree.
  • One year to obtain ASCP HT certification after completion of 12 consecutive months of full-time on the job training in a histopathology laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year (12 consecutive months) of full-time clinical experience in histopathology laboratory within the last five years OR 1 year (12 consecutive months) of full time veterinary, industry or research experience in histopathology laboratory.
  • Certified as HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP)
