Pay Rate Starting at: Level $19.50/ hr Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority.

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. ย Grocery Assistant manager is responsible for non-perishable grocery products, including full knowledge of product lines and location in store, as well as responsibility for ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, cutting, and marking product. Manager is also responsible for escorting customer to location of desired product and/or service desk for further assistance while providing attentive and courteous customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding grocery operations, safety, and sanitation
  • Assist grocery manager with weekly product orders while following all proper operating procedure to ensure adequate supply levels
  • Adhere to company policy through proper receiving, handling, storing, and stocking of product
  • Help achieve financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense for the grocery department
  • Maintain proper shelf conditions in regards to pricing, cleaning, straightening, rotating, and facing of product
  • Adhere to shelf management as it applies to following suggested plan-o-gram layouts and new/discontinued products
  • Training and development of grocery associates
  • Direct subordinates in implementing plan of action and goal attainment
  • File all necessary paperwork required for the grocery department
  • Help keep the backroom clean and orderly by organizing grocery area, making bales, stacking pallets etc. ย 
  • Take direction from the grocery manager and act in his or her place when absent
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

ย Must be at least 18 years of ageย 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Possess strong communication skills
