Bench/Grind Operator

Summary Description:
Clean/finish aluminum cast surfaces to meet customer part specifications.
Essential Functions:
  • Operate general hand tools such as hammers, files, punches, etc., for the purpose of cleaning parts; may include hoist operation, some machining, cutting, grinding, etc.
  • Operate manual machines and power hand tools such as drill press, saws, grinders, drills, sanders, die grinders, etc.
  • Perform general housekeeping to keep area clean and clear of debris
  • Perform visual and hands-on part inspection
  • Complete general paperwork for routing, scheduling, time reporting and quality
  • Operate mobile equipment and cranes
  • Must maintain a Good Attendance Record
  • Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:
Must have High School diploma or GED. Forklift experience and equivalent job experience are a plus. Must have basic math skills; must be able to read/write English for use in general and detailed paperwork. Must be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment and/or work aids: Hand/power tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, drill press, manual machines, simple gauges
