Job description

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to act as a visible technical leader and key bridge between business strategy and engineering execution. In this customer-facing role, you will take ambiguous business challenges and translate them into robust, scalable full-stack technical solutions. You will own the architectural vision for complex enterprise product-data platforms-collaborating daily with executive stakeholders, Product Managers, and geographically distributed engineering teams.
You will need to attend our client's site 4 days a week in one of the offices in San Francisco, San Jose or Rocklin, CA.
Essential functions
Solution Architecture & Strategy
  • Architectural Ownership: Own and drive end-to-end solution architecture across frontend, backend, data, integrations, and cloud infrastructure layers.
  • Requirements Translation: Transform business goals into clear, actionable functional and technical designs while proactively identifying hidden dependencies, risks, and edge cases.
  • Artifact Creation: Produce clear architectural documentation, including solution designs, data flows, integration diagrams, domain models, API contracts, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
  • Platform Modernization: Support platform evolution toward reusable, configurable capabilities rather than rigid, one-off implementations.
Stakeholder Management & Facilitation
  • Collaborative Leadership: Spend roughly 4+ hours daily in active collaboration-leading design workshops with Product, QA, Infrastructure, and engineering leads.
  • Executive Alignment: Present technical roadmaps, architectural trade-offs, and risk assessments to senior stakeholders, directors, and VPs.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
Business & Architecture
  • Ambiguity to Architecture: Proven ability to turn high-level, unformed business ideas into implementable, production-grade technical designs.
  • Critical Analysis: Strong track record of challenging incomplete or inconsistent requirements and defining boundaries between business needs, technical constraints, and implementation choices.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills, suited for a high-touch, highly communicative onsite environment.
Technical Skills
  • Domain Ecosystems: Hands-on experience with PIM, CMS, or DAM platforms and enterprise e-commerce/retail ecosystems (catalog management, product modeling, SKU hierarchies).
  • Tech Stack: Familiarity with Java, Spring / Spring Boot, and cloud-native, Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Full-Stack Awareness: Deep understanding of full-stack ecosystems, including frontend, backend microservices, databases, APIs, CI/CD, cloud platforming, and observability.
  • Data & Messaging Systems: Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, alongside event streaming/messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka).
  • Integration Patterns: Proficiency in distributed systems, API-driven design, event-driven architectures, data schema transformations, and handling data consistency/versioning across complex systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar.

Would be a plus
  • Modern Development: Experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools, coding agents, or LLM-driven engineering workflows.
  • Legacy Modernization: Proven experience modernizing or replacing legacy enterprise platforms while maintaining functional parity.
  • Global Delivery: Prior experience partnering with distributed/offshore development teams.

We offer
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects
  • Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule
  • Benefits package - medical insurance, vision, dental, etc.
  • Corporate social events
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Well-equipped office

Please note that all onboardings must occur in person and you may be asked to travel to attend.
