Job DescriptionSummary of Position:

The Greenhouse Associate will work in a hydroponic greenhouse with the seeder and ponds to assist in planting and cultivating fresh lettuce and greens.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Balances multiple tasks within the greenhouse to help support their teammates
  • Operate equipment to clean, fill, seed, grow, and harvest growing trays
  • Record and document information related to germination, planting, harvesting, growth, and food safety
  • Prepare and track cumulative picking totals
  • Complete daily operational checklists, including water, nutrition, and fertilizer checks
  • Clean work areas and systems including lines, valves, plant boards, seeding, and other equipment according to GFSI checklist
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Follow quality, food safety and service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Participate in any required company trainings, including safety and food safety
  • Handle several job functions related to planting, growing, and cleaning
  • Any other jobs or activities that may occur during the growing process
  • Assist and perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of areas and tasks as necessary
  • Comfortable working with automated equipment
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED

Work Environment:

Greenhouse, 100%

  • The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
  • Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
  • PPE must be worn at all times
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
