Job description

The Precision Companies include Precision Fabricating & Cleaning Co., Inc. (PFC), Precision Mechanical Inc. (PMI) and Precision Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) - separate, but complementary, business units.

Established in 1964, PFC has served the process industry continuously since 1964 and has performed work in aerospace, the food and beverage industry, the energy (hydrogen, nuclear and fossil fuels) industry, for bulk gas suppliers, and for automakers. Our capabilities include all forms of welding, tube and pipe fabrication, structural fabrication, and metal treatments. PFC specializes in the assembly of process and ground support equipment (skid mounted and modular construction) and specialty services, such as, precision cleaning of piping/tubing systems and components, passivation and component reconditioning and testing. PMI has been offering mechanical services to a wide array of government, industrial, commercial, and institutional customers since 1986. PMI installs process piping and equipment, plumbing and HVAC systems in hospitals, schools, airports/air bases, semiconductor manufacturing facilities and launch complexes.

Cleaning and Testing Laboratory Technician

Overview:

The Cleaning and Testing Laboratory Technician supports production and engineering operations by performing precision cleaning verifications, inspections, and testing verifications of customer supplied components and hardware. This role ensures all parts meet strict cleanliness, quality, and performance standards required for critical hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precision cleaning validation of parts using approved chemical processes, aqueous systems, ultrasonic equipment, and proper clean room procedures

• Conduct contamination testing, including particle count analysis, non volatile residue (NVR) testing, and cleanliness verification per customer specifications and industry standards

• Operate laboratory instruments such as microscopes, balances, ovens, measurement tools, and fluid analysis equipment

• Document test results accurately and maintain traceable records in accordance with quality management systems

• Interpret cleanliness specifications and ensure components meet customer and regulatory requirements

• Prepare and analyze samples and enter results into work control system

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety protocols

• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, calibrations, and consumable inventory

• Support root cause investigations and non conformance analyses when cleanliness or testing issues arise

• Work within clean room environments, following gowning and contamination control practices

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred

• Experience in laboratory, aerospace, manufacturing, or clean room environments

• Knowledge of chemical handling, precision cleaning, or contamination control processes

• Ability to read technical documents, specifications, and work instructions

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow tightly controlled procedures

• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry

• Ability to lift and handle components safely and meet physical demands of the job

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace standards such as NASA, MIL STD, or ISO cleanliness requirements

• Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100

• Prior laboratory, cleanroom or production environment experience

• Understanding of laboratory safety, chemical compatibility, and hazardous materials handling
