Position Overview

Green Leaf Psychotherapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate licensed mental health therapist to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position calls for an individual who specializes in providing therapeutic interventions to clients adversely impacted by trauma. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating recovery for individuals struggling with complex emotional challenges and psychological disorders.

About the Organization

At Green Leaf Psychotherapy Services, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment for individuals grappling with trauma. Our community health clinic in Bakersfield, California, is dedicated to offering trauma-informed care, focusing on treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive and holistic care tailored to their specific needs.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to connect with clients virtually. Our virtual outpatient office utilizes advanced teletherapy tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems to provide effective treatment in a comfortable and safe space. The work schedule typically spans Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the flexibility to adjust based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' trauma histories and develop tailored treatment approaches.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery while promoting resilience.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), ensuring interventions are appropriate for each patient.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, allowing patients to process their trauma and develop essential coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure patients receive well-coordinated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies related to trauma, employing your expertise and calm demeanor to assist individuals in distress.
  • Educate patients and families on responses to trauma, effective coping mechanisms, and community resources available for additional support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient interactions in alignment with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in case consultations and participate in professional development activities emphasizing the latest practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Stay informed on emerging research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on individuals who have experienced trauma and are seeking support for PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Many of our patients have undergone significant life challenges, including abuse, loss, and other traumatic experiences. Your expertise will empower them to navigate their recovery journeys and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment models.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates should demonstrate robust skills in delivering trauma-focused therapy and interventions. Experience in high-stress environments and an ability to remain composed when faced with emergency situations will be highly regarded. A proficiency in using EHR systems and teletherapy technologies will also enhance your effectiveness in this role.

  • Health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer matching.
