What is a Greek Theatre?

A Greek Theatre refers to an outdoor performance space that originated in ancient Greece, designed primarily for dramatic performances such as tragedies and comedies. These theatres are characterized by their semi-circular structure, tiered seating (theatron), circular performance area (orchestra), and a stage building (skene). Greek theatres were central to community life and could accommodate thousands of spectators. Today, the term can also refer to modern venues inspired by this classical design, used for concerts and theatrical events.
