Job description

Kitchen Lead – The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill

We're looking for a leader in the kitchen, not just another cook.

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is seeking an experienced Kitchen Lead who takes pride in consistency, quality, and leading by example. This position works directly under the Kitchen Manager and serves as the kitchen leader whenever the Kitchen Manager is not on duty.

The Kitchen Lead is responsible for ensuring recipes, procedures, food quality, and kitchen standards are consistently followed while helping the kitchen team execute every order quickly, accurately, and safely.

This is a hands-on leadership position. Our Kitchen Lead works alongside the team every day and leads through example, communication, and consistency. When the Kitchen Manager is away, the Kitchen Lead is expected to uphold the same standards and expectations.


Responsibilities
  • Serve as the kitchen leader whenever the Kitchen Manager is not on duty.
  • Ensure all recipes, portions, and preparation procedures are followed exactly as written.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, freshness, presentation, and consistency.
  • Ensure every plate leaving the kitchen meets company presentation standards and is something you would proudly serve to your own family.
  • Ensure all food is prepared accurately and served hot, fresh, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper ticket flow and communicate effectively with the Front of House team.
  • Coach and support kitchen team members during the shift while reinforcing company standards.
  • Uphold all company policies, food safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen throughout the shift.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures.
  • Monitor product quality and immediately communicate product, equipment, or operational concerns to management.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, urgency, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Jump into any station as needed to support the kitchen and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant kitchen experience required.
  • Previous leadership or lead cook experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable with outstanding attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to maintain composure during high-volume service.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
