The GRE (Graphics Reproduction Excellence) Manager is responsible for leading and managing the full scope of graphic front-end operations at the facility. This role involves supervising a diverse team engaged in pre-media, file preparation, proofing, plating, or a combination of these functions and others.

This leadership role plays a critical part in aligning graphic operations with broader organizational goals by driving strategic execution, maintaining rigorous performance metrics, and ensuring all graphic deliverables meet technical, print, and brand standards.

This position requires strategic vision and the ability to translate it into effective operational plans. The manager influences both internal teams and external stakeholders, gaining executive-level trust through consistent delivery, sound judgment, and a focus on business impact. They serve as a key change agent, fostering adaptability in response to evolving customer needs, technology, and corporate direction.

The GRE Manager builds a high-performance team through active mentoring, leadership development, and continuous training. They are accountable for building a culture of ownership, collaboration, and compliance with company-wide goals, ensuring their team contributes meaningfully to the success of the facility and the broader organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Champions the utilization of Managing for Daily Improvement, MDI, and other Lean tools to ensure all Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost KPIs are achieved at the site level.
  • Provides leadership to professionals whose primary areas of responsibility include item creation, pre-flight, planning, pre-press, imposition, tooling, and platemaking processes.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations site leadership to ensure best in class service for both MCC customers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Responsible for the delivery of ERP data, production ready files, proofs, tooling, and plates to meet strict internal and external timelines, scheduling, and quality requirements.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and adherence of standard work to ensure the effectiveness of Graphic Reproduction Excellence processes for internal and external customers at the site level.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement (CI) by ensuring collaboration with employees and management to maximize efficiencies by identifying and removing waste along with improving cycle time.
  • Responsible for proper staffing, payroll timesheets, training, coaching and development of departmental employees. Recommends personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
  • Makes recommendations for departmental upgrades by keeping current with industry and technology advancements.
  • Ownership and understanding of print tool creation to deliver optimized inputs for production success.

Secondary Functions:

  • Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies initiative, follow through, good time management, planning/organization, and decision‑making skills.
  • Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of settings, possessing strong communication skills, maintaining flexibility, objectivity, and a capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Individual must be able to handle administrative activities, maintain records, reports, or files. This includes the preparation and maintenance of employee records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 5+ years of Management experience in Customer Service or Graphics Reproduction, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Expertise with ERP and Graphics Systems
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, methods, and practices.
  • Excellent two‑way communication skills (including both oral and written)
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine root cause of problem and implement an appropriate corrective action
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is required
  • High energy level and ability to marshal resources to accomplish projects and manage initiatives
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to build effective working relationships at all organizational levels
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clients.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally, employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
