Position Summary

To safely operate & maintain an Offset Printing Press in order to efficiently & effectively manufacture folding cartons. Responsible for production performance and crew management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Production management to include:
    • Machine setup, adjustments, make readies
    • Troubleshooting of machine and/or quality issues
    • Adherence to maintenance schedule
    • Completion of required product and process audits
    • Exchange of information with shifts prior to/following work shift
    • Adherence to quality specifications
    • Identification of product/process enhancements to improve efficiencies, reduce downtime & spoilage
    • Production schedule output and timeframes
  • Crew management to include:
    • Training of crew members to ensure job duties are performed efficiently and effectively
    • Enforcing compliance with company policies (i.e., GMP/AIB/Safety)
    • Maintaining n clean and safe work area
    • Effectively leading work crew to meet production goals
  • Attend team meetings.
  • Actively participate in and support sample production runs.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • In-depth understanding of printing concepts
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment & quality issues
  • Ability to train new team members

Education and Experience

  • Must have 5+ years of printing experience as either Operator I or Operator II with related job duties and responsibilities
  • Post-secondary education in printing technologies, etc. preferred
  • General Math skills

 

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and work 12-hour rotating work shifts to include holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Ability to push 75 lbs.
  • Ability to do repetitive work
