Job description

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the YMCA's marketing and communications efforts by promoting programs, events, and services through digital and print media. This position manages the YMCA website and social media platforms, creates marketing materials, captures photos and videos at YMCA events, and assists with program setup and marketing in Daxko. The Marketing Coordinator works collaboratively with program directors to increase community awareness, strengthen member engagement, and ensure consistent branding across all communication channels.


Essential Responsibilities


Digital Marketing

  • Update and maintain the YMCA website with current programs, events, schedules, and announcements.
  • Manage all YMCA social media platforms by creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content.
  • Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments or messages as appropriate.
  • Ensure all digital content reflects the YMCA's mission, brand standards, and marketing goals.

Content Creation

  • Attend YMCA programs, special events, and community activities to capture photos and videos for marketing purposes.
  • Create promotional flyers, brochures, posters, digital graphics, and other marketing materials for program directors.
  • Assist in developing content for newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional communications.
  • Maintain a library of photos and marketing assets for future use.

Program & Administrative Support

  • Assist with entering and updating program information, descriptions, schedules, and registration details in Daxko.
  • Work with program directors to ensure marketing materials and online information are accurate and up to date.
  • Help promote new programs, seasonal registrations, fundraising campaigns, and special events.
  • Track marketing requests and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.

Member & Community Engagement

  • Promote a positive image of the YMCA through professional communications and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with staff across all departments to support marketing initiatives.
  • Attend department meetings and community events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing social media platforms for a business or nonprofit.
  • Experience updating websites (WordPress or similar content management systems preferred).
  • Experience creating marketing materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software.
  • Experience with Daxko or similar membership/program management software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Photography and basic video editing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to attend YMCA events.

Physical Requirements
