Production Manager/Lead Production Specialist

Job Description
Position OverviewThe Production Manager is the go-to leader responsible for ensuring daily production flow and quality control across the center. This position oversees accuracy in scheduling, maintains desired inventory levels, and leads all sign and graphic production. The Production Manager ensures all production and design team members are properly trained in their respective areas to maintain efficiency and top-quality output. This role may also collaborate on large project estimating and measuring, is responsible for scheduling installations, and will perform or assist with installs as needed. The Production Manager will also serve as back-up Graphic Designer when required.
Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of experience in the signage or an associated industry
Thorough knowledge of sign industry substrates, media, and products
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Professional, upbeat, and positive attitude
Sharp attention to detail
Keen multi-tasking abilities
Ability to work independently and as an integral team leader
Delegate task to production team members
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a diverse customer and prospect base
Expertise in the following software applications a plus:
Onyx current version
Adobe Illustrator current version
Adobe Photoshop current version
Adobe Acrobat Professional current version
Microsoft Office current version (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Expertise in wide-format printer operation a plus
Expertise in color management concepts and procedures a plus
Physical Requirements Must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods of time

Primary Responsibilities
A. Customer Service

Work with clients in a consultative manner to understand their needs and provide guidance for the best solution
Estimate creation and follow-up
Coordinate job scheduling and project management
Serve as final quality control to ensure product and service accuracy
Conduct financial transactions for job deposits and final payments
Assist with basic in-house marketing tasks

B. Job Production

Facilitate and lead morning production meetings
Serve as back-up in all graphic production
Serve as lead in all graphic and signage installation either as installer or install coordinator per management direction
Maintain a safe work environment and lead the team in following all safety guidelines

C. Operation & Maintenance of Equipment

Serve as back-up to operate plotter, laminator, and wide-format equipment to produce client jobs
Serve as back-up to maintain and monitor server and backup routines for all files produced in the Graphics department
Serve as back-up to operate desktop and/or copier scanners as needed
Serve as back-up to operate and calibrate monitors, office printers/copiers, and print equipment to ensure accurate color production and proofing
Serve as back-up to clean and maintain all equipment

D. Quality

Maintain superior quality on all individual work
Work with team members to ensure superior quality on all jobs produced

E. Inventory

Monitor substrate and media to maintain just-in-time production materials
Follow shop guidelines to place and receive material orders
Maintain accurate records for placing and receiving material orders
Coordinate equipment maintenance as needed

F. End of Day Procedures

Dispose of waste materials in compliance with current environmental regulations
Perform routine end-of-day procedures
Keep work zone tidy and clutter free

G. General

Lead daily production meetings
Work with staff to reschedule workloads as necessary to meet promised due dates
Maintain a clean and organized production area
Abide by all center policies and procedures as outlined
