Summary

The Creative Manager is a graphic design-focused role responsible for executing New Life Centerโ€™s marketing, communications, and fundraising strategies through visual design and creative production. This position works closely with the Advancement Director and Marketing Specialist to bring campaigns, messaging, and storytelling to life across print, digital, and environmental applications.

This role includes project management of signage, artwork installations, and other communication initiatives, ensuring projects are executed on time, on brand, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This role also supports content creation and hands-on collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, and able to execute projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

Essential Function 1: Creative Design, Production, and Project Management

  • Provide project management for marketing, communication, and fundraising initiatives, including coordinating timelines, managing deliverables, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Design and produce marketing assets for campaigns, events, and fundraising initiatives, including print, digital, and environmental materials.
  • Manage and execute signage and artwork installations, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Director and Marketing Specialist to execute marketing, event, and fundraising strategies, including development of supporting creative assets.
  • Edit, format, and proofread content for accuracy and consistency.
  • Capture quality photos and videos as needed to support storytelling and marketing efforts.
  • Conduct interviews with shelter guests, staff, donors, and partners to support content creation.
  • Provide hands-on marketing support for departments, ensuring alignment with brand and messaging standards.

Essential Function 2: Digital Support and Platform Management

  • Support social media execution in a collaborative or backup capacity (posting, scheduling, content support).
  • Maintain access and administrative support for social media accounts, Google Business Profiles, and shared inboxes.
  • Assist with website updates and coordination with vendors as needed.
  • This role does not own social media analytics or strategy but supports execution as needed.

Essential Function 3: Other Duties

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines, priorities, and expectations are clearly communicated and met.
  • Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and community engagements as needed.
  • Assist with event support, including setup, coordination, and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Andrea directs New Life Centerโ€™s fundraising, marketing, and community engagement efforts while overseeing the advancement department staff. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and corporate communications. Andrea joined New Life Center in 2021. Before that, she worked at Dakota Medical Foundation.


This job description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. Required Education and Experience:

  • ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field (Or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • At least 2 years of related professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design work across print and digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required).
  • Understanding of marketing and communication principles.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Webflow or other web content management systems.
  • Managing projects, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Canva, Delivra, and other supporting tools and platforms.
  • Coordinating or supporting marketing and fundraising projects.
  • Working with print vendors, signage, or environmental design installations.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.ย 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with the organization's insurance carrier requirements, and provide proof of insurance, as required for the performance of job duties.

  • Primarily office-based role with regular presence throughout New Life Center facilities and occasional off-site work for events, photo/video capture, and community engagement.

  • Regular interaction with shelter guests, staff, donors, and volunteers in a respectful, ethical, and compassionate manner when gathering stories and content.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities, timelines, and communication needs.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment and creative technology, including computers, cameras, mobile devices, and marketing software platforms.
  • Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting related to events, photography, or equipment handling.
  • Full-time position with work hours that may occasionally include evenings or weekends to support events, campaigns, or organizational needs.
