Job description


Overall Job Summary:

Responsible for the assembly, testing & debug, customer interface and shipping preparation of packaging machinery that ranges from above average to difficult in complexity. Other responsibilities include fostering teamwork, on time deliveries, safety, quality, and cost improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Assemble components of packaging machinery/automated systemsin correct order/sequence
  • Complete machine testing to debug mechanical/electrical devices for proper operation
  • Occasional travel to customer locations to support machinery

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • 2 year technical degree in Electrical/Mechanical Systems, Robotics/Automation or other related field; or the equivalent in experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the packaging industry or other related field
  • Electrical experience; to include electrical schematics and high and low voltage

Desired Skills and Characteristics:

  • Understanding of basic mechanical and pneumatic components
  • PLC programming skills (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
  • Experience with servo controls desired
  • Good communication skills, ability to work effectively with customers
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a group
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international)
  • Ability to work overtime
