Job description

Graphic Designer

*ON-SITE ROLE: APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN PERSON AT OUR PHOENIX, AZ LOCATION. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Owns independent execution of assigned design work across print, packaging, in-store signage/displays, digital collateral, social media, and event materials. Works from a brief or business objective to a finished, on-brand deliverable with minimal oversight, and is expected to bring creative judgment to the work — not just execute instructions literally.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and produce marketing materials across print and digital — brochures, flyers, reports, presentations, social graphics, event materials, and other branded assets
  • Support both dispensary/market-specific marketing and corporate campaigns across Grow Science's multi-state footprint
  • Conceptualize and develop creative solutions from written briefs, verbal direction, or business objectives, working independently once direction is set
  • Apply cannabis packaging compliance requirements without prompting
  • Maintain and elevate Grow Science brand standards across all creative materials
  • Provide creative input on briefs and concepts — flag weak direction and propose better solutions rather than executing as literally instructed
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Prepare final production files for print and digital, ensuring accuracy and correct specifications
  • Coordinate with print and production vendors as needed — bids, artwork prep, production requirements, final review
  • Assist with video and motion graphics projects as needed
  • Maintain advanced, current knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, the broader Adobe Creative Suite and relevant design tools
  • Perform other duties in support of business objectives as assigned
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
  • Scheduled hours: 8am–4pm M–F. Attendance and punctuality are core job requirements, not courtesies
  • Absences or lateness communicated in advance; undocumented or last-minute absences are treated as a conduct issue, not a scheduling issue
  • Standard-complexity tasks turned around per the timeline agreed at assignment
  • Works independently once a brief is set — does not require step-by-step direction to reach a finished, on-brand deliverable
  • Delays communicated proactively, before the deadline, with a revised delivery estimate — an explanation given after a deadline has passed does not satisfy this standard
  • Status on all active projects kept current daily

The job description defines the general requirements and level of work. The description is not a complete list of all required responsibilities, duties and skill requirements. Other responsibilities may be added and the job description may be changed at any time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/ETC.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years at an agency or in-house experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of current medical and recreational marijuana laws.

Specific state regulatory requirements also include verification, confirmation or completion of the following:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age; pursuant to A.R.S. §36-2801.10
  • Must consent to a criminal background check performed by the Company and/or the Arizona Department of Health Services, pursuant to A.R.S. § 36-2804.01
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check conducted by the Arizona Department of Health Services, pursuant to A.R.S. §36-2804.01 and A.R.S. §36-2801.10
  • Valid Arizona State Issued ID

JOB TYPE: Full-time
BENEFITS:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
