Job description

The Graphic Designer is a highly motivated individual who can take on a varying workload and can come up with new and exciting designs on a daily basis. The main function of the Graphic Designer is to work with multiple departments and customize our products based on their customer’s needs. This role collaborates daily with the Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to bring creative concepts to life across a range of projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides customers with an accurate representation of their expectations, ensuring that the outcome is accurate to what was communicated to them.
  • Creates customized products for both internal and external customers.
  • Adapts personal design style to suit customer’s preferences and overall brand look when necessary.
  • Communicates regularly with project stakeholders, Sales and Marketing teams, Product Development team, direct Manager, and Senior Designers.
  • Encourages teammates to improve upon their skills by continuously working on his or her own skillset and staying current on market trends.
  • Upholds JUNK Brands's values of acting with integrity; working together as a team; treating each other with respect.
  • Meets deadlines and expectations of varying projects in an efficient and timely manner.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communicator (visual, written and verbal) and a creative thinker with the ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Asana.
  • Highly collaborative, able to establish and maintain relationships and demonstrates a strong ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Excellent time management, multi-task oriented, organized and keen sense of personal accountability.
  • Is highly motivated with strong work ethics and demonstrated flexibility to meet tight deadlines.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution in Graphic Design or a similar field.
    OR 3–5 years of professional experience working as a mid-level designer.
  • Digital Illustration experience required.
  • Apparel and pattern design experience preferred.
  • Portfolio must show a variety of capabilities, including (but not limited to): pattern making, apparel or product design and web design.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Maintains positive, upbeat attitude.
  • Continues to seek improvement in design and production abilities.
  • Self-starter and eager to continue to learn.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend and move inside the office to access files and product.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner.
  • Ability to move 10-20 lbs occasionally throughout day.
  • Able to hear a telephone ring.
