Your Role

Gensler's Columbus office is seeking talented emerging architecture professionals to join our team as Junior Technical Designers. We currently have two openings and are looking for candidates interested in either a Generalist Architecture role or a position focused on Critical Facilities.

Our Generalist Architecture role offers the opportunity to contribute across a diverse portfolio of project types, includingMixed Use, Education, Workplace,HealthcareandHospitality. Alternatively, our Critical Facilities, Industrial and Life Sciencesrole is ideal for those interested in highly technical, complex project types such as data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing environmentspaces,and high-performance computing environmentsThis role also intersects with work in industrial and life sciences sectors, including advanced manufacturing, laboratories, healthcare, and aviation-related facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Work with the Design Director(s) and project team(s) on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production

  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production

  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings

  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination

  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university required

  • 0-5 years of related project experience, with interest or background in Mixed-use, Healthcare, Education, and Workplace projects

  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software

  • Beginning knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements

  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly

  • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
