Primary Function

The Graphic Design Manager oversees the daily operations of the Graphic Design team and ensures the delivery of highquality, brandaligned visual materials. Sitting within the Marketing team, this role manages Designer workload, supports project execution, and partners closely with Marketing, Corporate Communications,ย  and other departments to meet organizational design needs. The Manager helps drive and maintain brand standards, provides handson creative guidance, and supports the development of consistent corporate visual identity and shared design assets across the organization and its platforms.

Primary Duties

  • Supervise and support the Graphic Design team, providing daytoday guidance, feedback, and coaching to ensure strong performance and collaboration.
  • Manage team workload, assign projects, track progress, and help balance priorities to meet deadlines and departmental needs.
  • Partner with Marketing and Corporate Communications to understand project requirements, align creative work with messaging goals, and ensure cohesive brand representation.
  • Help drive and maintain brand standards across all visual materials, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and quality.
  • Collaborate with departments, practice areas, and internal stakeholders to assess design needs, provide creative solutions, and support internal and external initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of visual assets including digital graphics, presentations, promotional materials, templates, and other branded design elements.
  • Support organization and structure of asset library.
  • Review design work for accuracy, brand alignment, and quality before final delivery.
  • Stay informed on design trends, tools, and best practices to support team development and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support team and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong ability to lead and support a design team, fostering collaboration, team culture, and clear communication.
  • Solid understanding of workload management, project coordination, and prioritization in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of brand standards and corporate identity systems, with the ability to apply and uphold them consistently.
  • Ability to work effectively across crossfunctional partners and external vendors.
  • Skilled in presenting design concepts, gathering feedback, and translating needs into visual solutions.
  • Proficiency in industrystandard design software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problemsolving abilities.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant graphic design experience, including leadership or teamlead responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; familiarity with Canva and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Strong design skills across digital and print channels, with experience in typography, layout, brand standards, templates, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, compelling visual communications.
  • Experience within the AEC industry is preferred; proposal or professional services design experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Working Environment / Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards. The role may involve occasional standing, walking, or handling items up to 20 pounds, but is largely focused on computerbased tasks at a workstation or desk.
