Job description

Title: Graphics Artist - PMO - Intermediate (contingent 034)

Location(s): APG, MD; Huntsville, AL; Ft. Belvoir, VA

The individual will have a solid understanding of design principles and software, capable of independently developing and executing visual concepts for marketing materials, branding campaigns, and websites, while collaborating with senior designers on larger projects, demonstrating strong design skills to bring concepts from brief to completion with minimal supervision.

These positions will directly support Program Management Offices and may be directly embedded with them physically. A secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Able to prepare and use photographs, illustrations, drawings, other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
  • Provides graphics and design support, produces graphics and design work, provides intermediate technical support and guidance to information specialists and others for event meeting coordination.
  • Provides input to report and graphic standards of the customer and provides intermediate technical support.
  • Possesses knowledge of multiple PC and Macintosh application packages including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and drawing packages.
  • Proficient in industry standard design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Ability to work with vendors and consultants for quotes on services and subcontractors or service providers.
  • Provide graphics support across print and multi-media/digital media platforms. to assist in meeting the unique needs of CPE IEW&S.
  • Develop and produce specially designed products unique to the needs of aligned PMs or Divisions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in graphic design software, including Microsoft Office products and/or equivalent software to support the development and production of various visual materials.
  • Create graphics products and visual elements for digital media and print products,
  • Create and provide illustrations, drawings, photographs, charts, diagrams, maps, slides, overlays, and other visual materials for use in communicating information
  • Support the development of graphics materials for events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Develop and exhibit marketing and education information as necessary
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical area in graphic design related industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design
  • Supporting the production of awards, including but not limited to the matting and framing of various products
  • Supporting various photography requirements for events, conferences and meetings
  • Augmenting CPE HQ graphics requirements as/if necessary
  • Provide support in the preparation and presentation of awards, including tasks such as matting and framing.
  • Assist with photography tasks related to events, conferences, and meetings, coordinating with public affairs and operations personnel as needed.
  • Adhere to the company’s AS9100 and QMS policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree- Graphics design, computer information systems, Commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.
  • A minimum four years’ (4) experience in the field of graphics and design relevant experience required.
  • Substitution: Associates degree and minimum seven (7) experience in the field of graphics and design. Additional years’ experience can substitute for field of study.
  • A secret security clearance is required.
