Chipton-Ross is seeking a Training Specialist 2 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

o Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience. Master's Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

o Must be familiar with EH&S protocol and OSHA regulations.

o Must be comfortable presenting developed training to personnel at a large scale.

o Must be familiar with Learning Management Systems such as Learning Exchange and SkillFactors.

o Must be able to develop and modify graphics utilized for training.

o Experience with EH&S content.

o Experience in graphic design.

o Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

o Development of new EH&S Training for internal utilization to upskill personnel.

o Delivering EH&S training to key deckplate AORs that are determined to require additional training based on annual evaluations.

o Modification of pre-existing and upscaling of key EH&S trainings that are implemented at NNS.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma is required.

School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:

5/40 workweek. 7 AM - 3:30 PM.
