A graphic agency is a company that specializes in creating visual content for businesses and organizations. Their services typically include graphic design, branding, logo creation, marketing materials, web design, and sometimes digital marketing. Graphic agencies work with clients to develop visual assets that communicate messages effectively and enhance the client's brand identity. These agencies often employ a team of designers, creative directors, and marketing professionals to deliver high-quality visual solutions.

Social Graphic Designer (Contract)

Saylor Agency

Los Angeles, CA

$70K - $90K/yr

Full-time

Job description

About Saylor

Saylor is an entertainment-led creative agency built for brands that want to earn attention, not interrupt it. Founded by former Netflix and Disney marketers, we exist at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and strategy, bringing the sensibility of entertainment to brands ready to act less like advertisers and more like creators.

Saylor exists to help brands become the show - not the ad break. We watched agencies keep making ads in a world where people want to be entertained. We started Saylor to change that: To help brands act like creators, not corporations. To think like publishers, not advertisers. To stop chasing attention, and start earning it.

We're a tight‐knit crew who collaborate without ego, stay curious, and always show up for one another. We foster a supportive space where diverse perspectives are celebrated, hierarchy never blocks great ideas, and everyone is empowered to jump in, solve problems, and push creative boundaries together.

Position Overview

Saylor seeks a social-forward, entertainment marketing obsessed Graphic Designer to execute high-quality creative projects with a high level of design expertise. This role requires a professional who can seamlessly integrate sophisticated design solutions with strategic marketing objectives, grounded in an existing brand system. The ideal candidate will have exceptional social instincts, a solid understanding of brand identity, and the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.

The Graphic Designer will work closely with Saylor's Sr. Designers, Art Director, and Associate Creative Director to manage the day-to-day design needs of specific agency clients. You will be responsible for building visually compelling content using an asset library, building and pitching artistic directions internally, and executing comprehensive design needs for campaigns. You will work across platforms, art styles, and a diverse set of client needs. We are looking for a passionate designer who is able to communicate effectively and foster a positive work environment.

About You

You are a design fundamentalist with a social-first filter. You have a deep appreciation for the "rules" of a brand system but know exactly how to bend them to make a post feel native to a specific platform. You have a strong eye for layout and typography, and you take pride in the details that make a design feel premium. You are a fast, iterative thinker who can look at a library of assets and quickly see how to combine them into something fresh and engaging. You thrive in a collaborative environment where ideas are shared freely, and you are always looking for ways to elevate the visual voice of the brands you work on. You are self-motivated and comfortable taking a project from a loose concept to a polished, final deliverable with minimal hand-holding.

Location and Salary

This is a full-time, contracted role with a salary range of $70,000–$90,000, depending on experience. This contract will end at the end of December 2026, with the possibility of extension into 2027. This person must be West Coast-based. The ability to come into our Echo Park (Los Angeles) office twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement high-quality visual elements across various media, including digital, social, and more.
  • Execute social-first design work that is strictly grounded in and elevates existing brand systems.
  • Concept, iterate, and build visually compelling content autonomously using provided asset libraries.
  • Oversee multiple assets from conception through completion in collaboration with cross-functional team members.
  • Work closely with the ACD/Art Director and cross-functional team members to verify design specifications are met.
  • Bring client visions to life with high creative standards while staying on the pulse of industry trends.
  • Integrate new design technologies and methodologies to keep the agency at the forefront of design innovation.
  • Research and educate yourself on our client's visual goals to ensure all creative is strategically aligned.
  • Pitch artistic directions internally to help guide the visual trajectory of a campaign.
  • Provide quality control on all assets to ensure they meet platform nuances and technical requirements before delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of graphic design experience within a creative agency in the entertainment sector or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, InDesign).
  • Must be comfortable with and capable of performing motion graphics.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a broad range of creative projects with a focus on layout, typography, and brand identity.
  • Exceptional eye for visual composition and a deep understanding of color theory.
  • Experience working in a diverse range of mediums and formats with a focus on platform-specific nuances.
  • Proven ability to iterate quickly and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines autonomously.
  • Honed ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, corporate identity, and multimedia design.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, health insurance, 401k, generous vacation, and great opportunities for growth within the company.
