Marketing Manager - Graphene
-Remote, Can live anywhere in the US or Canada -- - Must currently work in chemical manufacturing industry in marketing/sales department
The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of global marketing strategies and end-market plans for the Graphene portfolio. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this role partners closely with R&D, Operations, Marketing Team, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective strategy execution and commercial success.
This position is accountable for delivering profitable growth through market intelligence, disciplined pricing and margin management, branding for individual market segments and will play a critical role in driving innovation and leading new product launches to strengthen market positioning and accelerate growth.
Additionally, this role will own the development and execution of 1-3-year strategic plans aligned with business objectives to expand market share and drive sustainable performance.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence & Pricing Strategy
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer insights, and regulatory developments
  • Translate insights into actionable strategies for product development and go-to-market execution
  • Establish and manage pricing frameworks to meet revenue and profitability targets
  • Conduct deep-dive competitive and market analysis to identify growth opportunities and target segments

Sales Enablement & Business Development
  • Develop high-impact sales tools, including presentations, technical narratives, and case studies
  • Support direct sales teams, distribution partners, and channel development efforts
  • Participate in trade shows, customer meetings, sales calls, and new business development activities
  • Communicate product value effectively at both commercial and technical levels

Value Proposition & Strategy Development
  • Identify customer pain points and translate them into compelling, segment-specific value propositions
  • Strengthen portfolio positioning by clearly articulating product benefits and differentiation
  • Develop and execute mid- to long-term (1-3 year) market strategies aligned with business goals

Innovation & Product Commercialization
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, and customers to identify and advance new product opportunities
  • Lead ideation workshops, develop business cases, and manage stage-gate processes
  • Drive successful commercialization and launch strategies for new products
  • Continuously assess evolving customer needs and align solutions to drive growth and margin expansion

Financial & Commercial Performance
  • Own segment-level market share and profitability growth
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis
  • Use financial insights to prioritize high-impact, high-ROI initiatives

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with R&D on technical positioning and feasibility
  • Partner with Graphic Design on marketing assets and brand execution
  • Support executive leadership with strategic insights and recommendations
  • Operate as a highly autonomous contributor, with potential oversight of a small team

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, &/or Nanotechnology
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of commercial B2B marketing experience within Chemical or advanced chemical materials end markets
  • Strong understanding of product chemistry and ability to translate technical features into compelling commercial value
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing market and financial data to drive strategic decision-making
  • Systems: MS Office Suite, Teams, AI research, HubSpot CRM (or similar), subscriptions to market trend analytics or can recommend cutting edge market intelligence subscriptions, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, including pricing strategy and profitability management
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Additional Information
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + 15% performance bonus (company and individual performance)
  • Travel: Up to 20% (tradeshows and customer visits)
  • Benefits: Paid company shutdown between Christmas and New Year's
