Job description

Job Title: Countertop Lead Installer

Department: Installation

Reports to: Installation Manager

Overall Responsibility: Be the lead installer in the precise installation of genuine stone, natural stone (quartz) and solid surface products, according to Galaxy Stone Works standards. Be a reliable employee that is able to cross train and learn new skills within the company

Job Responsibilities:

-Installation of granite, quartz, and solid surface countertops (including seams, cutting, etc.)

-Template and measurements for countertops and backsplash

-Perform demolition of kitchen and bathrooms for remodels

-Load and unload materials

-Deliver and pick up materials

- High attention to detail

- Dependable

- Great Communication skills

- Must be willing and able to work Saturdays when needed as production and installations do run into Saturdays from time to time.

- Must be willing and able to travel around the state of Oregon & Washington for installations as well as possibly staying out of town overnight when needed

- Must be able to handle a high work load while maintaining the finest craftmanship

- Must be able to lift and handle heavy slab countertops & surfaces

- Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and a good driving record.

- Must be able to verify piece count before and after loading.

- Must be open to cross training for other areas to become an all-around employee

- Responsible for company tools and their maintenance.

Skills Required:

•Installation Experience – At least 2 years installation experience of countertops required.

•Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking the questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

•Body Positions – Ability to regularly stoop, crouch, reach, stand, and sit.

•Body Movements – Ability for full range of movement, includes the use of hands to finger, handle and feel objects such as tools, and installation materials. Ability to bend, reach for objects, and to crouch. Ability to walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions.

•Body Senses – Command of all fives senses; sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision ability include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to analyze the quality of the installation and overall product quality.

•Strength – Ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.

Working Conditions:

•Job duties will be performed primarily at the job site which may be either residential or commercial.

•Requires employee to be outdoors on a regular basis.

•Will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.

•Normal vehicle travel hazards will apply.

•Noise level usually high.

•May require overnight travel.
