Job description

Join the team of mechanics at the Grand Traverse County Road Commission that keep our fleet moving! GTCRC is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Truck Technician. This position is part of a small but mighty team that works to keep trucks and equipment operating efficiently and safely. Our technicians are part of making a difference in our community and our mission to maintain a safe & efficient road system.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of related experience performing routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and heavy equipment. Experience with fleet management systems and computer-based diagnostics is required. Education requirements are a high school diploma/GED and training in mechanical/technician skills. Candidates must be flexible in working on a variety of machines and trucks and be able to work effectively on a team. Troubleshooting skills are highly desirable. A CDL is preferred, but not required.
Our team works 4, 10-hour days in the summer, Monday - Thursday. Take back your summer and enjoy 3-day weekends.
