Job description

Grand Traverse County Road Commission is looking for an Engineer to join our Traverse City-based engineering team. We are looking for someone who is civic minded, wants to make a difference in our community and be part of our mission to maintain a safe & efficient road system.

The project engineer will assist in all phases of project delivery, including design, bidding, construction, and closeout. We are looking for someone who not only enjoys the design phase of construction but also enjoys being out on job sites, working with contractors and the crew. 

Work is within Grand Traverse County, with limited travel outside of the county for education and conferences.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or the equivalent. Previous experience in road design and/or road construction is required. This role requires that the individual either possess a PE (Professional Engineer) license in Michigan and/or be able to obtain one within 1 year of hire.
