Job Summary

The Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy functions including venipuncture and microcollection ensuring quality and timeliness of collection, processing, and distribution of specimens and input of required information into LIS. Performs Point of Care (POC) tests as defined by the department. Acts as Senior phlebotomist when circumstances require.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy training program (preferred)
  • Certification by a recognized certifying agency preferred
  • At least one year of hospital based experience( preferred)
  • Certification by a recognized certifying agency is required within first 18-months of employment (required)
