Job description

The Edmonton Police Service requires a self-motivated individual to provide clerical support services to Recruit Training Section. ย Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing reports, memoranda, training materials, spreadsheets, correspondence, recruit records, and other confidential administrative documentation.
  • Providing administrative support to Recruit Training Section members and supporting the day-to-day operation of the section.
  • Coordinating schedules, classrooms, instructors, meetings, and training activities.
  • Maintaining recruit, training, and administrative records, including tracking information, registrations, and related documentation.
  • Assisting with recruit graduation ceremonies and other section events, including logistics, communications, and administrative coordination.
  • Processing and maintaining operational and staffing-related documentation, including course registrations, transfer orders, and other section records.
  • Receiving and distributing mail, maintaining office supplies, coordinating printing requirements, and supporting classroom and event preparation.
  • Liaising with recruits, instructors, divisional personnel, external agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders to support training programs and special events.
  • Performing other related duties.
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications and a minimum of two (2) years' diversified word and information processing experience OR Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to data entry or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college and a minimum of two (2) years' diversified data entry experience including general office procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 007, $25.17 - $31.25 (Hourly); $2,013.90 - $2,500.50 (Bi-Weekly); $52,563.79 - $65,263.32 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
