Position Overview

Join our dynamic team at Life Mission Nursing and Rehab in Modesto, California, as a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). Work Environment

Located in Modesto, California, our facility provides an onsite hospital setting equipped with modern rehabilitation technologies and resources that enhance patient care. You will collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, utilize advanced therapeutic modalities, and engage with patients in a warm and encouraging atmosphere. Our working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced lifestyle while you contribute to meaningful patient care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with Patient Treatment: Collaborate with physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other physical modalities to promote recovery.
  • Patient Monitoring: Observe and document patient progress during treatment sessions, adjusting activities and exercises based on individual responses to ensure effective rehabilitation.
  • Patient Education: Provide clear explanations and guidance to patients about their conditions, teaching them proper exercise techniques and body mechanics necessary for their home maintenance programs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatments, and any concerns, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and enhancing continuity of care.
  • Assist in Patient Mobility: Safely assist patients in transferring and mobility tasks, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout therapy sessions.
  • Maintain Equipment: Regularly check, clean, and maintain therapeutic equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition, adhering to best practices and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Therapists and Staff: Engage actively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust rehabilitation plans that promote high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide Administrative Support: When necessary, assist with administrative tasks such as patient intake, scheduling, and other office duties to support clinic operations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you'll work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your compassionate care will empower patients to regain strength and mobility, significantly impacting their overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California or eligibility to obtain such license.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic exercises and principles of orthopedic rehabilitation.
  • Ability to proficiently perform basic physical therapy procedures and interventions as directed by physical therapists.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on effectively interacting with patients, families, and team members.
  • A strong professional work ethic, compassion for patients, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a PTA in an orthopedic or outpatient rehabilitation setting, enhancing your ability to deliver specialized care.
  • Experience with advanced therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation to elevate the care experience.
  • Demonstrated capability in patient education, particularly with home exercise programs and rehabilitation techniques.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $280,000 to $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
