Job description

Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech) is a Non-profit Trade school located in Jacksonville, FL and we are searching for professionals to fulfill a part time teaching position within our Network Administration and Security Program (NAS). The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for success in this position.

Job Summary

  • As an Instructor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and skills of our students. Use your expertise in the computer science, network administration and security to shape the next generation of IT Professional. We believe that hands-on learning is the key to success, so get ready to dive into the world of interactive teaching and inspire the next generation to conquer the challenges of modern marine technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Inspire and Educate: Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for welding while imparting your expert knowledge.
  • Hands-On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
  • Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.
  • Instruct general education courses and any course within the Network Administration Program. Course descriptions available at JTech's Catalog
  • Ensure that the aesthetics of all equipment installations keep our facility “show ready”.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Three years in a technology support position.
