Job description

Graduate Civil Engineer II, Water/Wastewater EIT
Halff is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer II, Water/Wastewater EIT for our Water & Wastewater Utilities team in our Houston or The Woodlands, TX offices. The position will be for a General Civil Engineer interested in Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process design and construction. This position offers an excellent career development opportunity for someone looking to grow with Halff, with potential for not only business and personal growth, but ownership in the firm.
What you will do:
  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
  • Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction
  • Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water & Wastewater projects
  • Perform drafting CAD work
  • Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
  • Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree (preferably in Civil or Environmental Engineering).
  • 1 - 4 years of experience in Water & Wastewater Utility projects and Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Design.
  • Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Desired experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWater.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Solid relationship and team building skills.
  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills.
