Field Risk Inspector Trainee - Graduate Trainee Program (2 positions available)

About the Program:

Our Field Risk Inspector Graduate Trainee Program is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in engineering field risk inspection and develop a comprehensive understanding of equipment and inspection procedures. As a trainee, you will be part of a 2-year structured, hands-on program aligned with National Board standards, designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a certified engineering Field Inspector in the Insurance industry.

 

Key Highlights of the program:

 

  • Train under the NB-380 Framework: You will train to National Board Commission industry standards, requiring you to complete workbooks, training courses, exams, and 300 supervised inspections before earning a National Board Commission certification.
  • Gain expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of engineering inspection guidelines, equipment, and procedures while gaining hands-on experience by assisting experienced inspectors with jurisdictional equipment inspections in Ontario.

 

  • Mentorship & Networking: Build relationships with senior leaders, peers, and mentors who will guide your journey of development - both personally and professionally throughout your career. Along the journey, you will be encouraged to develop skills to effectively manage clients and external stakeholder needs.
  • Career Launch: Upon successful completion of the 2-year training program, you will transition into a full-time Inspector with increased responsibility and autonomy.

 

 

 

What we're looking for:

 

  • Students graduating in 2025 or 2026 from Canadian universities or technical colleges with a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mechanical, Mathematics).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; curiosity, integrity, drive, and analytical thinking will set you apart.
  • Passion for innovation, technology, and making a difference in the insurance industry.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in insurance is an asset.
  • Commitment to learning and encompasses a growth mindset.
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a greater team;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SharePoint, SQL, Gen AI is a bonus.
  • Trainees will be required to work onsite at our Toronto headquarters up to three (3) days per week to maintain strong team connections and maximize learning and growth potential.
  • Ability to freely travel both within Canada and internationally as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License - This position requires routine travel among multiple customer locations, the successful candidate may be assigned a company vehicle or may have the option to use their personal vehicle for company business. As such, the successful candidate must have an acceptable driving record.

Our base salary range for this role is between $65000 and $75000 per year , plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.

This role is located in our Toronto office on 390 Bay St, and we operate in a hybrid work model. This job posting is for an exisiting vacancy.
