The Opportunity:

Our Commercial Operations team has an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment and gain supply chain management and commercial experience through a rotation of assignments and special projects. You will be a valuable member of the team working with and contributing to a variety of areas.
This permanent position includes a 24-month program providing a unique opportunity with rotations across key business areas such as Procurement, Inventory, Materials Management, Joint Ventures, and Contracts Management (Operations and Major Projects).
- Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
- Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday - Friday)
- Start Dates: Ranging from January to December 2027

Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to strategic sourcing efforts (RFIs and RFPs) to award contracts to best total value suppliers
- Take part in negotiation strategies that support and deliver cost, delivery, and business value for Canadian Natural
- Assist in developing sustainable supply chain strategies through market research, needs analysis, risk and commercial analysis
- Procure materials and services to support business operating requirements, ensuring timely delivery to end-user locations
- Develop inventory strategies that maximize inventory investment with operational goals
- Participate in new technology assessments, selections and implementations and continuous improvements initiatives
- Assist with the Joint Venture Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) process, manage a portfolio of JV contracts, and support resolution of disputes while focusing on root cause analysis (RCA)
- Conduct fee and/or area reviews to assist in asset utilization and cost optimization initiatives
What You Bring to The Role:
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Systems, Operations Management, or similar program; within the past year or will be completing undergraduate degree by December 2027
- Previous supply chain management, procurement, logistics, materials management, data analytics or joint venture experience as a student is preferred
- Key competencies required:
- Business mindset with a daily focus on continuous improvements
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Effective with time management (high volume)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Utilizes a structured approach for problem solving
- Effective interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders
