General Summary

The Graduate Assistant will support the College of Business Dean's Office with administrative, eventrelated, and communication tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with office operations, event planning, email tracking, appointment scheduling, and social media support. Additional scholarly or teachingrelated assistance may be assigned as needed. The Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and a tuition waiver.
Period of Employment: August 2026 - April 2027. Second-year appointment is contingent on performance, academic success, and resources.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant supports the Dean's Office by assisting faculty and staff with administrative and projectbased tasks, helping with event planning, tracking and routing emails sent to the Dean's inbox, scheduling appointments for leadership, providing social media support, and performing general office duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Admission and enrollment in an EMU graduate program
Ability to work up to 20 hours per week (10 hours for half-time appointments)
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 required for new graduate students
For GA reappointments, maintenance of a 67% course completion
Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter Semesters

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to graduate students who are able to work two consecutive semesters
Proficiency to Microsoft Office Software
Knowledge of statistics
Strong oral and written communication skills

Special Instructions:

This assistantship carries a stipend and Graduate Assistants will also receive a tuition scholarship for up to 18 credit hours. Any courses added or dropped late will not be covered by this assistantship, and you may be responsible for additional fees. Additionally, Graduate Assistants are responsible for the payment of fees outside of tuition and differential tuition.
**NOTE** To be considered for this position, applicants must attach two letters of recommendation and a current resume. For students new to EMU, a transcript is required to verify GPA. Also provide a GRE or GMAT score if you had to take one of these tests.
