We believe people should love what they do โ€“ in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions groupin the Textron Systems Weapons division.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including:
    • Managing full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors.
    • Forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
  • Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through:
    • Performance management: establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback.
    • Facilitating regular communication: hosting meetings, resolving issues, and mentoring team members.
    • Developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
  • Review and approval of software architecture and requirements development.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve departmental performance via:
    • Analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance.
    • Gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Masterโ€™s degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded and application Software Engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development methods and tools.
  • Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
