Le chef de projet technique sera chargé de guider et d'encadrer ses collègues, de définir les exigences avec les parties prenantes du client, de veiller à la mise en œuvre de ces exigences et d'assurer le leadership de l'équipe. Il participera au codage et assumera d'autres responsabilités techniques. Il ne s'agit pas d'un poste purement axé sur la « gestion du personnel », car Actalent dispose d'une structure de direction formelle et de responsables de la livraison qui seront chargés des questions de performance ou autres.

Le candidat idéal possédera une expertise en C++ moderne, aura déjà travaillé en contact avec la clientèle et, idéalement, aura une certaine expérience en matière de mentorat ou de leadership.


Rôle et Responsabilités

  • Diriger une petite équipe (~5 personnes) composée de développeurs logiciels et de spécialistes de l'assurance qualité
  • Être responsable du développement tout au long du cycle de vie complet du logiciel (conception, développement, tests, etc.)
  • Participer aux réunions quotidiennes et hebdomadaires (réunions Scrum et stand-up) et rendre compte de l'avancement des projets par le biais de rapports bimensuels et de démonstrations
  • Servir d'interface principale entre les parties prenantes du client et l'équipe de développement
  • Traduire les besoins des parties prenantes en fonctionnalités et en user stories et veiller à la bonne santé du backlog


Compétences et expérience requises

  • Solide expérience en développement logiciel, OU être diplômé d’un programme d’ingénierie logicielle ou électrique
  • Expérience en développement C++ orienté objet (C++11 et versions plus récentes, 6 ans et plus)
  • Expérience de l’utilisation de Python (3 ans et plus), idéalement dans un contexte de tests automatisés
  • Expérience avec Linux (préféré) OU d’autres systèmes d’exploitation basés sur POSIX (1 an ou plus)
  • Solide compréhension des méthodes de développement Agile / Scrum
  • Expérience de collaboration avec des ingénieurs système / Product Owners pour définir les exigences et les critères d'acceptation
  • Hybride : 3 jours au bureau à VSL, déplacements occasionnels à Laval
  • Bilingue : français / anglais

The technical lead will be able to experience an exciting career with our team, supporting interesting projects coming from industry-leading clients. The technical project lead will be responsible for guiding and mentoring colleagues, establishing requirements with customer stakeholders, ensuring execution on such requirements and providing leadership to the team. They will be involved in coding and other technical responsibilities. This is not a pure "people management" role - as Actalent has a formal leadership structure and delivery managers who will be responsible for performance or other issues.

The ideal candidate will have expertise with modern C++, will have worked in customer-facing capacities, and ideally will have some kind of mentorship or leadership experience.


Duties:

  • Lead a small team (~5 people) of software developers and QA specialists
  • Responsible for the development of the complete software life cycle (design, development, testing, etc.)
  • Participate in daily and weekly meetings (scrum and stand-up meetings ) and provide an update on the progress of projects through bi-weekly reports and demos
  • Act as primary interface between client stakeholders and delivery team
  • Translate stakeholder needs into features and user stories and ensure the backlog is healthy


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in software development, OR be a graduate of a software or electrical engineering program
  • Experience in Object-Oriented C++ development, (C++11 and newer, 6+ years)
  • Experience using Python (3+ years), ideally in an automated testing context
  • Experience with Linux (preference) OR other POSIX-based operating systems (1+ year)
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum delivery
  • Experience working with System Engineers / Product Owners in defining requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Hybrid: 3 days in the office in VSL, occasional visits to Laval
  • Bilingual : French / English
