Job description

Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Barry Ad Co supports the Marketing & Brand department by creating, coordinating, and managing social media content for Barry University accounts, including the main university account, Barry Ad Co, and Bucky the Mascot. This role develops content calendars, films and edits social media assets, and helps ensure content aligns with the goals and audiences of each account. The Graduate Assistant also provides guidance and mentorship to Barry Ad Co student employees by modeling best practices in social media, content creation, presentation, leadership, and professional communication.
Essential Functions
  • Develop, film, edit, and schedule social media content for assigned Barry University accounts in alignment with each account's goals and brand standards.
  • Create and maintain content calendars to support consistent, strategic, and timely social media posting.
  • Mentor and guide Barry Ad Co student employees on social media best practices, content creation, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Support the development of student employees' business, presentation, communication, and leadership skills through coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Barry Ad Company and Marketing & Brand team members to ensure content supports departmental priorities and university messaging.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a Barry University graduate program, preferably in Psychology, Marketing, Communication, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience creating social media content, including filming, editing, writing captions, and developing content calendars.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, audience engagement, and basic branding principles.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor student employees, provide constructive guidance, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
