Job description

The Sr Product Manager evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business needs and the competitive environment.  This position will work in conjunction with the current cross-functional team including development, operations, legal, finance and marketing to support relevant products and services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio.
  • Uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities. Responsible for developing project plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share.
  • Applies broad knowledge of company product capabilities and service offerings with in-depth analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of products and solution alternatives.
  • Works closely with product development to create products and validates early product definitions with customers.
  • Evangelizes solution and guides technical approach with channel partners. Includes detailed technical discussions on software integration (API's, IETF Specifications, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, required
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree, preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in product management and, or product development (design, or software integration)
  • Knowledge of product management, marketing, channel management, and product development
  • Knowledge of Verisign's products and services (EPP, Registry Lock, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to share insights with peers
  • Attention to detail and prioritization/time management skills
  • Strong business acumen, good judgment, attention to detail, objectivity, and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to think both analytically and creatively, making data-informed recommendations
  • Previous experience with security and/or DNS related solutions (authentication, domain name locking, automation, or similar)
  • Previous experience launching new solutions or businesses into a market helpful

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $149,300 - $201,900.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
