Beyer Blinder Belle (BBB), an award-winning architecture and planning firm with offices in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Miami, seeks a highly motivated Junior Architectural Designer to join its New York City Institutional & Cultural Studio. This studio works with leading civic, cultural, and institutional clients on projects across all phases-from programming and conceptual design through construction.


Alongside the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate is passionate about stewarding and transforming significant existing and historic structures. They bring a strong design sensibility grounded in technical rigor and a curiosity about developing innovative, thoughtful design solutions in complex contexts. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working across disciplines are essential.


New hires will join a dynamic and collegial studio environment in New York while collaborating with BBB colleagues across offices in Boston, Miami, and Washington, D.C. BBB fosters a culture of mentorship, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.ย

Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
  • 2+ years of professional experience in architecture; progress toward licensure preferredย 
  • Professional degree in architectureย 
  • Strong proficiency in Revit required; familiarity with visualization and graphic tools is desirableย 
  • Experience working with existing buildings, particularly historic structures, is highly valuedย 
  • Contribute to design development, documentation, and Construction Administration across project phasesย 
  • Participate in programming, design studies, and technical development, including research, evaluation, and implementation of design solutionsย 
  • Apply architectural judgment to assigned tasks with guidance from senior staffย 
  • Develop and communicate design concepts through drawings, models, and presentationsย 
  • Effectively communicate design ideas and technical issues within project teamsย 
  • Manage production of deliverables for smaller projects and contribute to larger project effortsย 
  • Balance responsibilities across multiple projects in a collaborative studio settingย 
Compensation

BBB offers fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63,000-$72,000, with variations based on experience, education, achievements, and business needs. Employees may also receive an annual performance-based bonus and salary increase. ย
