Job Description

The manufacturing engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.


Requirements

  • Good understanding of various capabilities of Subtractive Manufacturing which includes but not limited to Milling, Turning, chemical and electrical.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and assembly.
  • Familiar with manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficient in print reading. Must have good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for English and Metric system.
  • Knowledgeable to various inspection techniques and methods
  • Familiar in relevant software like Solidworks, MS Office
  • Project management skills
  • Lean Manufacturing experience and knowledge. Able to identify and eliminate waste consistent with Lean principles
  • Committed to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Degree in Engineering; post-graduate degree is a plus


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing and supporting the transition of new products and revision changes into manufacturing and assembly operations (NPI Lead)
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Prepare BOM and any manufacturing documentation including work instructions, procedures, material records, SPS, Red Line prints, create dwgs from solid models etc.
  • Review, resolve and escalate daily engineering, production and quality issues
  • Support manufacturing lines by providing engineering and technical expertise to daily production activity including machining, assembly, production quality and documentation
  • Provide operator training and process improvement
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned


Education / Experience

  • 3 years manufacturing engineering experience with direct involvement in the development and production of mechanical components.
  • College degree or equivalent is a plus.
