Job Title
Graduate Internship Coordinator
Position Purpose
The Graduate Internship Coordinator, within the Office of Career and Life Planning (CLP), is a talented individual who is committed to helping students by overseeing the graduate school internship program. Specifically, the Graduate Internship Coordinator manages applications for internships associated with graduate programs. Hybrid work environment may be available.
Essential Duties Summary
  • Partners with the offices of Graduate Academic Advising and International Programs to ensure an efficient process, from internship application to acceptance and I-20 completion;
  • Engages with Academic Advisors, Program Directors, and Faculty Advisors to ensure academic
    outcomes are represented in work placements and to ensure PD permissions have been obtained when needed;
  • Engages with International Programs office to ensure internship compliance for regulated non-citizens;
  • Oversees and coordinates off campus Work Study program
  • Assists as needed with on campus class visits, events and student visits to the office.
  • Coordinates graduate school internship program.
  • Approve graduate internship applications (specifically Employment Authorization Forms) and assist students with the internship approval process, including but not limited to;
    • Ensure student completion of internship-related paperwork and conduct follow-up as needed;
    • Develops familiarity-to-fluency with NEC degree program learning outcomes, primarily in the graduate school;
    • Assess students' statements of learning for their direct ties to internship placements;
    • Review and obtain appropriate signatures on the application documents, and distribute
      applications to appropriate individuals;
    • Organizes, creates, and maintains electronic files and archives/updates databases;
  • Assists, offers feedback, and responds to inquiries for information from graduate student applicants, and resolves problems; provides exceptional customer service to these applicants.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Experience
  • 1 to 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Successful candidate will have prior experience managing data and in office organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain electronic files and archives.
  • Experience with Windows software, including Office 365 and Excel is required.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to make decisions independently as well as a collaboratively.
  • Ability to present oneself professionally to a variety of constituencies.
  • Strong communication skills; both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years work experience in job training, human resources, and/or education is preferred.
