Sustainability Engineer - Greer, USA

Job description

Greer is the biggest site of the Group in terms of surface and energy consumption. As a flagship of the Exterior & Lighting Business Group, the site must reach a high level of energy performance and using enhanced energy management system.

The site is looking for a young talent to:

  • Develop and coordinate Energy management, best practices implementation and action plans to improve performance
  • Identify relevant key energy and financial performance indicators to quickly promote the initiative and motivate the teams
  • Identify and implement energy metering at key consumption points
  • Clarify the energy mapping of the site and identify the main consuming equipment through portable devices
  • Support teams to identify opportunities for improvement (like production process optimization)
  • Analyze energy trends (including energy performance indicators evolution), the influence of relevant parameters (like weather conditions, production organization, etc.) and energy deviations
  • Ensure efficient implementation of standards and work instructions impacting energy consumption
  • Work with maintenance to identify the key actions related to energy in the preventive control plan & find possibilities for improvement
  • Develop a long-term improvement plan through the identification and prioritization of the opportunities for improvement
  • Support Plant director to clarify and communicate Roles & Responsibilities related to energy management
  • Ensure energy criteria are included in the new equipment source and in new project development
  • Improve communication related to energy to raise awareness on this topic
  • Start building the foundation for an ISO 50001 certification (energy management system) including the animation of an energy committee
  • This role operates under TISAX confidentiality level 1, requiring appropriate handling of sensitive information

The position requires strong leadership as it will involve interaction with numerous stakeholders. 

Profile

You are a highly motivated young graduate from an engineering school or university with experience in project management, ideally in a technical environment.

You are a team player, a self-learner and can demonstrate leadership as well as good communication skills. 

Open-minded and with a desire to learn, you demonstrate willingness to embark on an international career. You are rigorous, detail oriented and dynamic. You have worked in energy management beore and ISO 50001 implementation experience is a bonus.

You are fluent in English, and another language is a plus.
